For over 30 years, the Northeast Family YMCA has been making summer exciting for the children of our community. Our ACA accredited day camp goal is to help your children grow in spirit, mind and body while enjoying the wonders of the great outdoors. We offer a great selection of fun camps where campers learn new skills, develop team work, and make new friends in a safe, nurturing environment.

Camp Trailblazers (Age 12 -14)

Teen Camp is ideal for teens looking for new experiences and new friends! Team building and group decisionmaking are central features of this camp. Teens develop some of their own itinerary for their trips and daily schedule. Also, a volunteer service project summer-long will foster the teens’ sense of community and help them exercise their individual talents. 

  

Camp Pathfinders (Age 10 - 11)

YMCA Day Camp is a traditional day camp that provides enriching, age appropriate activities and experiences for campers and allows them to explore a new theme e ach session. Campers will participate in weekly field trips, arts & crafts, cha racter development activities, nature exploration, fitness and sports. Campers  will have daily organized swimming or water activities. Interaction with their age groups as well as with the entire camp will bring fun and emjoyment while  children learn new skills and share interests.

 

Camp Explorers (Age 8 - 9)

YMCA Day Camp is a traditional day camp that provides enriching, age appropriate activities and experiences for campers and allows them to explore a new theme e ach session. Campers will participate in weekly field trips, arts & crafts, cha racter development activities, nature exploration, fitness and sports. Campers  will have daily organized swimming or water activities. Interaction with their age groups as well as with the entire camp will bring fun and emjoyment while  children learn new skills and share interests.

 

Camp Pioneers (Age 6 - 7)

Camp Small Feet (Age 4 - 5)

Highlight your child’s summer with a vacation of their own at Camp Small Feet. This half-day preschool camp is a great opportunity for children to gain a little independence while they enjoy learning and fun in our action filled outdoor program. Activities include: Arts & Crafts, Story Time, Games, Outdoor Play and Exploration, Snacks, Songs, and Swim Activities.

   

Discovery Camp (Age 2 - 3)

We will help your child discover nature and science in the world around them. They will participate in numerous arts and crafts projects. The fun summer program provides an opportunity for your child to play with children their own age, and continue to develop independence away from family in a safe, fun and caring environment. Discovery Camp is supervised by PA Certified Teachers. Activities include: Arts & Crafts, Games, Outdoor Play and Exploration, Snacks, Songs and Swim Activities.

  

Extended Care Camp (Age 6 - 14)

Extended Care is offerred for the Youth Camps: Pioneers, Explorers, Pathfinders and Teen Camp: Trailblazers. Before Camp (6:30 am to 8:45 am) and After Camp (3:00 pm to 6:00 pm).

Parent Handbook

Upon receipt of a completed enrollment form and payment of registration and membership fees, parent will receive a Parent Information Handbook. The handbook contains details about YMCA Summer Camp policies and procedures. Parents must sign and return the Receipt of Parent Handbook form located in the back of the handbook.
 

Camp Staff

Our camp counselors are carefully selected for their special skills, experience, enthusiasm, maturity and love for children. All camp staff receives the following:
  • Screening through background and substance abuse checks
  • Professional training and development
  • A minimum of 40 hours of pre-camp training including First Aid and CPR, child abuse prevention, safety guidelines and program planning.

Camp Fees/Payment Information

A current YMCA membership is required for every child in Day Camp. Camp Session payments must be paid in full two weeks prior to the start of each camp session. The Northeast Family YMCA accepts all major credit cards, cash and checks. Failure to make payment will result in the forfeiture of your camp deposit in addition to losing your child’s spot in Camp. Financial Assistance is available; please refer to our Financial Assistance section for more information.
